Hello, world! I'm Francisco Chavarria, CEO and founder of Yopaki. Born in Guadalajara and raised in Mexico City, today I write these words as I sit at PlebLab in the heart of Austin, TX excited to share the love and passion I have for culture & Bitcoin. It's this passion, that is deeply connected with my roots and dreams, that gave birth to Yopaki.

Yopaki, from the Nahuatl language spoken by the Meshicas/Mexicas aka Aztecs, means "to be happy" or "the essence of being happy". It embodies my belief in the power of culture to transform Bitcoin use & adoption.

The Yopaki Journey: Bridging Bitcoin and Culture

Yopaki aims to stand at the forefront of a unique movement, blending the freedom and miracle of Bitcoin with the beauty of culture. Our mission is simple yet profound: to bring the essence of culture to Bitcoin through innovative technology, engaging apps, immersive events, unforgettable experiences, and accessible education.

For us here at Yopaki, there has been a lot of time spent trying to understand why there’s a struggle/barrier for so many to be curious or interested in bitcoin, and we believe to have found a formula that the rest of the industry will embrace with us.
What is it? - CULTURE!

To test this theory, we thought a good place to start would be a bitcoin event. This led us organizing Mexico's first non-technical Bitcoin Conference – aptly named "Mexico's 1st Bitcoin Block Party" – which was a resounding success and a blast for those who made history with us. In case you missed it, we were the ones responsible for projecting “Bitcoin” + “Fix the Money Fix the World” on the Central Bank of Mexico 👀🇲🇽 (another blog post will be necessary to go over this event, so stay tuned). It marked the beginning of a new era in the Bitcoin landscape of Mexico and Latin America.

What is next?

Introducing Loteria Bitcoin by Yopaki

As we stand on the verge of another breakthrough, we’re super excited about our upcoming first app/product, called “Loteria Bitcoin” by Yopaki. This app is not just a game; it's a cultural achievement, a bridge connecting the rich history of a traditional game with the world of Bitcoin.

Loteria, a game similar to bingo but with a twist of using images and numbers, is a game deeply rooted in Mexican culture. Our version, however, brings a fresh perspective by integrating Bitcoin elements into its 54-card deck. The game is simple, engaging, and offers rewards every 12 hours in the form of bitcoin (SATS, which is the smallest denomination of a bitcoin), with the ultimate prize being A WHOLE Bitcoin for the lucky player who shouts "LOTERIA" by having a full board!

It’s important to note that throughout this process, we’ve learned the difference between idea generation and full execution/deployment. We definitely want to share part of our process on additional blog posts. In the meantime, we can share that the app is on track to get approved by Apple very soon (App store Jan 2024 and Google Play end of Feb 2024).

The Vision: Making Bitcoin Accessible Through Culture

At Yopaki, we believe in the power of culture to make technology accessible and enjoyable. Loteria Bitcoin will be be our first step in proving that through a fun, easygoing approach, we can onboard millions into the world of Bitcoin. It's not just about playing a game; it's about being part of a movement that celebrates Mexican heritage while embracing the future. Other products & services for Q1 include a bitcoin-only exchange, bitcoin wallet, updates on the Loteria app, and a few surprises we’ll share on a blog post in the coming weeks.
